Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of The Stranger, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments.

Day 1: Students use the Internet to research a brief history of French colonial Algeria. They write reports of their findings or may create a timeline of what they learned.

Day 2: Students use an online questionnaire to create a psychological profile of Meursault.

Day 3: Students use interactive online weather websites to calculate how hot it really can get during the hottest time of year in Algiers.

Day 4: Students watch a video about Camus and his philosophy and relate it to the reading.
