    Group Discussion

    Objective:

    Students will examine the ways in which different characters perceive Prospero.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.3, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.4, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.9-10.1

    Structure:

    Is Prospero a hero or a villain? A friend or a foe? A bully or a victim? It depends on who you ask. Prospero is different things to different people.

    Divide the class into groups of 4 - 6 students. Divide each of the following characters among the group, with each group member "taking" two or three of the following characters:
