    What are the conditions for Black people in North Carolina and why?

    North Carolina is very different from South Carolina and Georgia. In North Carolina, the white people had experienced so many slave uprisings that they decided to exile (or abolish) all Black people from the state. On her way from the Underground Railroad station to Martin’s house, Cora rides down Freedom Trail, which is lined with lynched Black bodies. On Fridays, there is a festival with minstrel shows and more that ends with lynching any Black people who were found in the state.
