Biggie missing skiing

The starting chapters often describe Trumper having a feeling that she had been missing skiing and was purposely rubbing it in his face. Her night time rituals where she does skiing exercises out of habit, reads skiing magazines in front of him. He is also injured when the skis fall on him after she starts keeping them in their closet fearing damage from the basement mouse. These descriptions are often visual hints rather than conversations, so its subjective to Trumper’s understanding of Biggie’s behavior.

Very fat German family.

Trumper describes the German family he sees after having a skiing accident in a comical detail. The family members are so fat that he names them in such terms, Father Round, Mother Heft and the three children as, Dumpling, Dumpier and Dollop. There is no other significant detail to them but these funny names give a comical element to the instance.

The convention at Dr Vigneron

Trumper finds the convention of the patients at Dr. Vigneron immensely funny. He describes them each of them with some association to urine and makes the scene not only grossly funny but structured as well. There is a kindly woman with a child the color of urine, an attractive woman with tightly crossed legs as if hiding a secret in her pants, probably an STD, and an old man with various tubes protruding out of him. Although they all have urinary problems, they find an interest in other people’s problems.

The chaotic calm in the last

After Trumper makes peace with Tulpen, they visit Biggie and Couth with Ralph and Matje. Although there are still some issues between them, Trumper finds a sense of calm in the whole chaotic mess where everyone’s trying to get ready in the big house and leave.
