Restoration comedies (also known as comedies of manners) are English comedies written between about 1660 and 1710, with The Way of the World being a prime example of the style. Other emblematic examples include The Country Wife by William Wycherley, The Provoked Wife by John Vanbrugh, and Congreve’s own Love For Love.
