    Shakespeare and His Works: A Review

    Objective:

    Students will extend their knowledge about the story's background, creating a starting point for expectations about the book.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.11–12.1

    Structure:

    The teacher should initiate the class by posing a very open question: what do students already know about the Bard and his works? What comes to mind when they think of Shakespeare? What kinds of things did Shakespeare write, and which of these writings have students liked or disliked? What are some of the challenges and rewards that come with reading Shakespeare?
