Why do you think Brown chooses to include the case studies from the Israel-Palestine border and the US-Mexico border?

At the beginning of the second half of Chapter 1, Brown explicitly states that these two walls are “the two largest, most expensive, and most notorious of the new walls.” Students should recognize that their expensiveness and notoriety have something to do with Brown's choice to dive deeper into these border walls specifically. Because they are the largest and most expensive, this might subtly imply that these countries are trying extra hard to exert power and dominance through the symbolism of their walls.
