Love
Love is different and unpredictable. It can inspire and give only amazing moments or it can force people to suffer from non-reciprocity. The author saves the plot of this novel. It could be a nice story about Jacob and his defense of animals, but love supplements this novel with happy end, gladness and romanticism. Moreover, love between Jacob and Marlena is an excellent example to show loyalty. Also, there is love between people and animals, which is based on mutual understanding and esteem. The author is sure that only love can help her personages, because it unites all positive features of character and struggles with hatred and evil.
Fortitude
All people and animals have the same feature of character. It is strength of mind. The author clearly describes the huge sorrow and misfortune of the novel. But desire for freedom and happiness unites all artistes of the Benzini Brothers' Circus. Despite all barriers, pain, tortures and bad luck, readers can notice that everybody achieves the main goal. Jacob and Marlena get love, animals get freedom. Only person, who has fortitude, can achieve the summit of success and destroy all obstacles on the right road.
