Objective:

Students will evaluate voice and tone in the novel, and to write their own original creative pieces to develop a deeper understanding of the characters

Structure:

This is Day 1 of an activity that will continue throughout the rest of the week.

Have the students sit at their desks, with their computers or tablets open to a word processor program. Explain to them that they will write a short novel, with one chapter per day. They will write on the subject of leaving home. They can choose to write something fictional, personal or somewhere in between....
