Reading Wonder provides an excellent opportunity for students to better understand their own biases and prejudices. By the end of this set of lessons, students will be able to:
- Speak about individuals who have conditions like Auggie's knowledgeably and respectfully,
- Thoughtfully process their own emotions and experiences on these topics,
- Understand how to approach all relationships with alter-abled individuals with respect and kindness, and
- More broadly, adopt a broader and more open-minded perspective on all their interactions with anyone they encounter who may have different needs or life experiences than they do
