    Structure:

    In Chapter XXVIII, as he lies in bed, Frederic makes a clear allusion to the anonymous English poem "Westron Wynde," written in the early 16th-century. The entire poem is as follows:

    'Westron wynde, when wilt thou blow,

    The small raine down can raine.

    Cryst, if my love were in my armes

    And I in my bedde again!'
