All Creatures Great and Small is the first book in a series published for the US market. Other books in the series, which continue James Herriot’s partially-fictionalized memoirs, include All Things Bright and Beautiful, All Things Wise and Wonderful, The Lord God Made Them All, and Every Living Thing. In addition, the films All Creatures Great and Small and It Shouldn’t Happen to a Vet came out in the 1970s and are based on Herriot’s books.
