How is Koznyshev's book received and what effect does this have on Koznyshev?
Koznyshev's book is largely ignored and at least one critic reviewed it negatively. To Koznyshev, six years of work have amounted to almost nothing, making him somewhat paranoid and gloomy (but not suicidal like Anna, Vronsky, and to a lesser extent, his brother Levin). The failure of Koznyshev's book may have contributed to the fervor with which he devotes to his support of the war effort.
