I am a Sancocho Anonymous

I am what any Colombian would recognize as a Sancocho. I am 32% potato, 11% plantain, 2% cilantro, 16% chicken, 9% cassava, 5% corn, 17% meat, 8% avocado. I could say I am a little bit of everything, but I am a mixture of interests, skills, and passions that are not at the same level. Today, I love math and science, and I would consider it to be my 32% potato in my sancocho. I have cultivated this interest, but I also like playing the piano, which would be my 5% corn. We all have our talents and spikes, and we can cultivate them however we want to. I would remind the community that all of the ingredients that make us up are important and we don't have to be experts at everything.

Sancocho is easy to make, cost effective, and it yields a lot. Currently, it is one of the most important meals in Colombia because it helps feed the thousands of Venezuelan immigrants that come to find better opportunities. Sancocho is the ease of how we, Colombians, share and care. I would bring the community the importance of sharing with ease, and furthermore, the things we share that actually make an impact.
