Imagining the Unseen

Students will be able to develop their understanding of the play by engaging with the characters who are not seen onstage

Structure:

The unseen characters in Arcadia play a significant role in the narrative, especially Lord Byron and Mrs. Chater, but also Lord Croom, and in the contemporary scenes, the mother of Valentine, Chloë, and Gus. Students will write a two- to three-page scene featuring both an unseen character and one who is seen in the play. The scene can take place before, during, or after the action of the play....
