Bluest Eye Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of The Bluest Eye, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

In the Day 1 activity, “Close Reading of Prologue,” students will use Google Docs or a class blog to post the writing portion of the close reading exercise.

In the Day 1 activity, “Introduction to Black Feminism,” students will use Canva to make a flyer.

In the Day 2 activity, “Pecola and Self-Love,” students will use Canva to make a post.

In the Day 2 activity, “Learning about Colorism,” students will use Canva to make an Instagram essay.
