Objective:

Students will compare one of the two major adaptations of Catch-22 with the novel.

Structure:

For this activity, students will view either the 1970 film adaptation of Catch-22, or the 2019 miniseries, in groups of three or four apiece. After they have had time to do so, groups will fill out a worksheet that compares the two versions.

After this, students will prepare a presentation to show their findings, which they will deliver in front of the class. This should include screenshots and comparisons between the two versions. Groups should focus on important moments in the text and...
