Chain of Iron Irony

Chain of Iron Irony

The irony of the wedding

The wedding between James and Cordelia is paradoxical because it is not based on love but on convenience. In fact, the marriage is a sham because its purpose is to maintain the family's reputation. However, the neighborhood people think this is a happy couple. In reality, James and Cordelia struggle to know each other after the wedding.

Grace’s visit to James

When Grace visits James to discuss various issues, Cordelia misunderstands them and assumes they are having a sexual affair. Therefore, Cordelia runs to Mathew, who quickly organizes their escape to Paris. Ironically, Grace and James do not have any form of sexual relationship. It is too late when James realizes Cordelia is missing because she has already escaped with Mathew to Paris.

Cordelia’s allegiance to Lilith

Cordelia is expected to pay her loyalty to the Smith because he is the one who crafted her Cortina sword blade. Cordelia uses her sword blade as a source of strength and power. Ironically, Cordelia swears her allegiance to Lilith, Smith's rival and an enemy of the demons called Belials.
