    What are the differences between Justine and her sisters, Dee and Josie? What accounts for the sisters' success relative to Justine? What is the significance of "You'll Be Honest, You'll Be Brave" ending with Justine connecting with Lula instead of the sisters?

    We've spent more time with Justine and see all the difficulty she's had in her life, so while Dee and Josie may have made better decisions, the reader likely sympathizes with Justine. Moreover, some students might sense some hypocrisy in the fact that Dee and Josie do not strictly hold to their religious restrictions. By ending with Justine's connection, the story reaffirms the sympathy for the youngest daughter....
