    Objective:

    Students will briefly outline a modern retelling of the play.

    Structure:

    Electra in its original form is lacking in stage directions, meaning performers are free to interpret many aspects of the production as they see fit. Much in the way that Baz Luhrmann "updated" Shakespeare with 1996's Romeo + Juliet, students will come up with a brief pitch (about 500 words) that explores how they would bring Electra into the modern day.

    Students' pitches should include the following details:

    1. Describe the setting in as much detail as possible. This includes location, period of time, and so on.
