Empire of Wild Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

Love

Love is symbolized by Joan's fortitude to bring back Victor. Joan's husband mysteriously went missing after arguing with his wife about their land. Since then, it has been almost one year, and Joan's spirit is still high because she wants her husband to return home alive. Despite Joan's family telling her to leave Victor alone and move on with her life, she finds it difficult because she loves her husband more than anything else.

Selfishness

Heiser symbolizes selfishness and corruption in the business world. Heiser is a corrupt dealer because he dupes most of his clients to enrich himself. Heiser's friends in the business engage in dirty land deals to steal from innocent clients. Cecil is one of the victims of creepy land deals operated by Heiser and his colleagues.

The tent beside the parking lot

The tent beside the parking lot at Wal-Mart symbolizes hope. Joan has searched for her husband, Victor over a year, and when she sees the tent and hears a voice similar to that of Victor, she becomes optimistic that Victor is inside. Despite the person inside convincing Joan that he is Victor, Joan's hope of finding him is energized.
