Travelogue

Kind of Activity:

Individual Writing

Objective:

Students will be able to record and recall significant details about setting, action and character.

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.R.3, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.W.3

Structure:

Have students begin a travelogue, recording things that happen in places along the story. As travelogues share not just details about places, but about experiences and impressions as well, students will record and interpret characters' inner thoughts.

With every changing setting, have students provide a description of

• Events
• Character Impressions (not included in the text)
