    How does Herzog feel about Gersbach? Do you share his feelings? How do you account for Herzog’s perspective and feelings when deciding what to make of Gersbach?

    Most students will be on Herzog’s side and against Gersbach, as Herzog is the hero and he was cheated on by his wife. However, students should be aware that most of the information we have about Gersbach, especially his motivations, come from Herzog and therefore are not reliable. Thus, while they may be against Gersbach’s behavior, they also need to focus on Herzog’s behavior more.
