In order to fully understand Hiroshima, it will be important for students to have a strong base knowledge of the Second World War, anti-nuclear movements, and the ongoing debate over the ethics of using nuclear weapons. Encourage students to use internet resources to carry out research, both for longer term projects and to fill in their general knowledge about World War II as they go along.
