Bringing in Technology

Students will create Twitter accounts (either in groups or as individuals) to examine Mikki Kendalls hashtags #solidarityisforwhitewomen and #fasttailed girls.

They should choose one tweet that they found interesting using these hashtags and write a response essay. This activity should be closely monitored and framed by instructors, who may even want to choose a set of tweets and create a “twitter stream” using an app such as Canva for students to choose from due to the sensitive and controversial nature of the hashtags and their ensuing responses.
