    "Only Connect"

    Kind of Activity:

    Artistic Response

    Objective:

    Students will visually represent the many connections in the novel, relating back to the novel's epigraph.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.2

    Structure:

    After reading this section, with its major revelation about Henry Wilcox and Jacky Bast, students should revisit the epigraph at the beginning of the novel: "Only connect." In this project, they will consider the many ways the epigraph relates to the novel's characters and events.
