Structure:
The narrative thread of I Am Malala inevitably leads to her shooting: it is the book's central event, and its inevitability creates a tension that lasts through the majority of the story. The shooting will also become an important part of Malala's personality. She becomes famous because of what happened to her, and if people know anything about Malala, it's that she was shot by the Taliban.
