Structure:

In this activity, students will analyze the first sentences of the stories within a story in If on a winter’s night a traveler. As a reminder, every other chapter in If on a winter’s night a traveler is an opening chapter to a novel. To begin the activity, recite the first sentence of 5-7 books you are familiar with. You’ll need to prepare this ahead of time. Explain to students that they will analyze first sentences in this activity.
