Ryzard
Ryzard is hopeful young author. He seeks self-acceptance through his writing, making him the essential troubled artist, but he is kind nonetheless. Through his patient self-deprecation, he extends generosity to those around him, although he sometimes fails to pull his fair share because he's lost in his head.
Bogdan
Bogdan is Maryna's husband. He clearly takes a secondary role in their marriage, deferring to Maryna and her various exploits. He struggles to advocate for himself in the relationship because he's been engaging in secret affairs with men. Although he is not ready to admit it, he is gay. Bogdan is continually abused by Maryna for not standing up for himself.
