    Understand the social and historical context in which the work occurs, paying particular attention to the impact of context on the life and behavior of the characters.

    Interpret and appreciate the phrasing and dialect O'Casey uses for the characters and why they choose certain phrases and idioms to express themselves.

    Research the historical differences between the time in which the play occurs and the present day, in order to understand how the social conditions of the time differ from the present, and how such conditions influenced the actions...
