Britain in the 1920s

Group Work

Objective:

Students will work in groups to research the culture of 1920s Britain.

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.11-12.7

Structure:

Break students into small groups and assign each group a topic:

-Fashion

-Music

-Movies

-Business

-Education

And so on (depending on the size of the class). Ask groups to research the state of their topic in Great Britain in the the 1920s, during which the novel is set, and prepare presentations for the class. Paint a picture of what popular culture would've looked like in this tumultuous, post-war time!
