Interpreting the Lord of the Flies

Objective:
Use imagination and creativity for artistic project; Interpret the text
Structure:
Divide the students into groups of four to five, and using construction paper and other arts and crafts tools, have them create their interpretation of how the Lord of the Flies looks. Do they think of the Lord of the Flies as the pig’s head that appears to Simon, or as the skull that Ralph encounters?
Then, on the face of the Lord of the Flies, have the students write down at least ten terms, characters, or events taken from the text that most remind them of what the Lord of the Flies represents.
