Images of Attack

There are images in the novel, which depict the attack on different characters. First of all, Toby and Ren are attacked by the criminals, but they survive that disaster. The criminals, who were the participants of painball game, attack Amanda and they do not empathize with anyone. They intend to hurt others and enjoy the vicious cycle of murders. The imagery of attacking the torch bearers of civilization is also evident when Toby and Ren create camps to support the survivors of the attacks. The criminals constantly appear out of the woods and find ways to attack the various groups in the camp to get satisfaction.

Imagery of Rebuilding Civilization

Toby and Ren along with their friend Jimmy try to rebuild their civilization. They create camps to provide a chance to the survivors to restructure their lives along with their civilization. They assist the survivors and save them from the attacks. The imagery of rebuilding civilization has also been demonstrated through the characters of Zeb and Adam One. Both the brothers save the earth and their civilization by going against their father. Zeb hacks his father’s account in order to halt his anti -environmental activities. His father was not concerned about his planet and the safety of people, but Zeb was worried about the detrimental effects of oil on earth. He attempts to revitalize the earth by founding a community of God’s Gardeners and gives away his own identity and his family for this purpose.

Images of Service

All the characters in the novel except the criminals assist others and their sole motive is to serve the humanity. Toby and Ren have been portrayed as helping Amanda and other survivors of the attacks. Toby tries to help others even at the cost of her own self. Toby, Ren form a friendly bond with Jimmy and help each other through thick and thin. The other survivors of the disaster also forge relationships among themselves to provide every possible aid. Zeb has also been depicted as a savior and as serving humanity by sacrificing his own relations and identity. He creates a community of people and urge them to render their services for the earth. The images of service propagate the ideas of working together for achieving the aims.
