Structure:

In today's reading, readers were introduced to the Jeroboam, a ship on which a mutiny took place. Although the specter of mutiny aboard the Pequod hasn't quite made itself known yet, Melville has preemptively sewn the seeds of malcontent among her crew, and we will see tensions reach a breaking point as we approach the novel's conclusion.
