Symbol Presentations

Students will locate and analyze symbols with

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.4

Structure:

The teacher will write 4-6 symbols from the novel on the board. For example, she might choose:

- The Pocket-Knife

- Flowers

- The Sea

- Grey Coats

- The Green Dress

Students will divide into several small groups (between 3-5 people depending on class size) and choose one of the symbols.
