Students will be able to use Vuong's form as inspiration for a reflection on themselves

Structure:
Students have now read both Frank O'Hara's "Katy" and Ocean Vuong's "Someday I'll Love Ocean Vuong." What do they feel that the two poems have in common besides the obvious line? What do they think the poets are doing by naming themselves so explicitly in the poems?
Students should then write an autobiographical poem in which they address themselves. They might use the "Someday I'll Love [self]" form...
