    Why is Part 3 called “The Vessel”?

    Almost the entirety of Part 3 is set in Q's car, a vessel which contains the characters and their quest. Then later, Q decides the metaphor he likes best in regards to interpersonal relationships compares people to vessels. They start out whole and gradually gather cracks as a result of the hardships they face. The cracks make them vulnerable, and yet they also make it possible for people to see each other as they truly are. Margo, for example, has been a vessel for Q's expectations, but she can no longer hold them; instead, Q is now compelled to see her as she really is.
