Unlike Eduviges Dyada and Dorotea, Father Rentería attempts to absolve Susana of her sins before she dies. Why do you believe he does this? What makes Susana's case different from those of the other two women?

Students could point to the fact that, unlike the other two women, Susana is someone whom Pedro Páramo cares about. She is his wife, and Pedro will likely do what he can to have Father Renteria absolve her. Pedro did this for Miguel, and he most certainly would do this for Susana if need be.
