Objective:

Students will record their reactions, questions, and make and evaluate predictions throughout the duration of the novel.

Structure:

Pigeon English recounts scenes with offensive slurs, discrimination, and violence on more than one occasion. Sexual assault and murder are also depicted in the novel. This material may be triggering to some students and the teacher should warn the class ahead of time about each of these occurrences.
