Students will understand consent and contemplate how to change rape culture

Structure:

In the last chapter of Pigeon English, Harri is sexually assaulted by Miquita. In order to prepare the students for the material and to better understand the rape culture still present today, students will watch a Tedx Talk by Keith Edwards entitled "Changing The Conversation around Sexual Violence." Keith Edwards is a "social justice educator, sexual violence prevention speaker, men’s identity scholar, and leadership coach."
