    Diary Entries

    Kind of Activity:

    Creative Writing

    Objective:

    Students will write a journal entry from the perspective of one of the play's main characters.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.3

    Structure:

    Many of Richard II's characters have gone through a lot so far, whether it's Richard's fall from grace, Bolingbroke's successful rebellion, or any number of more minor characters becoming involved in courtly affairs. Students will, then, write a journal entry of 400-500 words detailing the internal life of a chosen character.

    Students may choose from any character in the play, as long as they are able to prepare a substantive journal entry for them....
