In what way is Jojo already an adult? Who treats him as such, and who resists such treatment?
Jojo already has the maturity and many of the responsibilities of an adult. Pop tells him to "watch after them," referring to Misty and Leonie, even though Jojo is only thirteen and Leonie and Misty are actual adults. Similarly, Jojo feels responsible for his younger sister Kayla's well-being. In other ways, though, we see how he is still growing up.
