Chapter 4 - Understanding and Comparing Distributions - Exercises - Page 97: 8

Answer

Both distributions are unimodals and skewed to the right but Wisconsin is more strongly skewed. There are outliers in both distributions but do not seem to have effect on the overall conclusions. Both the median and the mean of Wisconsin are greater than the median and the mean of Vermont. The standard deviation of Wisconsin is greater than the standard deviation of Vermont which means that Wisconsin distribution is more spread than of Vermont. And the IQR of Wisconsin is larger than the IQR of Vermont.
