Answer
Retroviruses bearing oncogenes will infect cells from their corresponding host animal but will usually not transform them to cancer cells yet, these retroviruses readily transform immortalized cells derived from same organism because, Retroviruses contain oncogenes and cause cancer by recombination of normal DNA .In immortalized cells they readily transform them to cancer cells because immortalized cells undergo division indefinetely and due to which the retrovirus infection leads to increased synthesis of oncogene encoded transforming proteins whcih convert normal cells to tumour cells. Individual retrovirus are species specific with unusual mode of replication by which they transmit cancer cells to all the daughter cells too.
