Homeostasis will be affected if the lungs will not be able to expire air sufficiently. When the expiration is not sufficient, the residual volume will increase over time, thus decreasing the vital capacity. This will result in a decrease in the air we inspire/inhale. Thus, the oxygen which is needed by the body will also be limited leading to various problems in the body's system.
