The statement is wrong due to the following reason: a. Viruses do not consist of cell machinery and required structure to reproduce on their own. They can only reproduce inside a living host. Hence they cannot be cultured in a standard complex medium. b. Viruses are very small in size (< 2 micrometer), however, bright field microscopy can only view object greater than 2 micrometer in size. Therefore, bright field microscopy is useless in this case.
