Cipriano Algor
Cipriano Algor is the main protagonist and narrator of the story. Her is an old potter, and he has a daughter called Marta. He enjoys making dishes and shares them with his neighbor, Isaura. He works from his peaceful home. When the center stops its order of pots, Cipriano is forced to move. Whenever he goes to a new place, he studies it to try to understand its functionality and order, which he also does as he moves into the Center.
Marta Algor
Marta Algor is Cipriano Algor’s daughter, and she helps him with making his dishes and pots. When the Center cancels its orders, Marta tells her father that he should start another business, but is doesn’t work. When Cipriano decides to leave, so does Marta.
Isaura Estudiosa
Isara Estudiosa is Cipriano Algor’s neighbor, and he enjoys sharing his love for dishes and pottery with her. She also has a romantic relationship with him that gets broken off when he moves.
Marçal Gacho
Marçal Gacho is Cipriano’s son-in-law, and he works at the Center. He strongly believes in the strength of the Center. Although Cipriano doesn’t want to move in, he reluctantly agrees because there is no other choice. One day, as he is assigned to take care of a construction site, Marçal discovers six dead bodies hanging from the roof, facing a blank wall.
