    Objective:

    Students will be able to discuss the societal functions and classes so far in The Handmaid's Tale

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.2

    Structure:

    Consider the various societal functions and classes we've learned about so far in The Handmaid's Tale. As a class, you may wish to make a chart on your Smart Board or blackboard listing name, roles and responsibilities, and some examples of characters who fall under that category.

    For example:

    Marthas/Do housework, cooking, cleaning, look after children/Rita and Cora

    Handmaids/Go shopping, bear children for...
