    Ebola PSA: Part 1

    Kind of Activity:

    Technology

    Objective:

    To understand the plight of the characters in The Hot Zone

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.2, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.9

    Structure:

    Divide the class into small groups. Each group will be making a two-minute PSA for a hypothetical situation where Ebola has come to Reston, Va.

    They should work together to come up with a script and assign roles (including director and cameraperson). Creativity is encouraged. Each PSA should include the following information:

    -How is Ebola transmitted?

    -What are its symptoms?

    -What should you do if you think you have it?

    -Are there places, people, or animals one...
