King Birtram
He is the main protagonist of the story and is shown to be hardworking, diligent king who is much loved by the kingdom. He spends his days doing paperwork, and when he’s not, he enjoys walking on stilts as his hobby. When they are stolen, he becomes disheartened and stops becoming the dutiful king everyone knows.
Eric
He is the King’s page and is shown to be a hard-working young man. He is manipulated by Lord Droon into getting rid of the King’s beloved stilts. He feels guilty about this and eventually returns them to him.
Lord Droon
He is a very serious man who disproves of the King walking on stilts for fun. He wants to put a stop to it, so decides to steal the stilts and makes Eric dispose of them.
